Thanksgiving Day

Click here to listen to the Thanksgiving Day Sermon on Luke 17:11-19. This sermon was preached on Nov. 27, 2008 at the 10:00 a.m. Mass. In this sermon, particular emphasis is placed upon the difference between the Lord's Table and our own tables. Please listen to this sermon for a careful treatment of the Church's practice of Closed Communion, often misunderstood by those who are accustomed only to their own tables, or to churches that no longer follows God's form of hospitality, which lovingly calls sinners to repentance, and restores them fully in Christ Jesus.

You may also click below to listen to the Kyrie chanted on this day, as well as the Collect and the Readings. We provide these so that you may better appreciate the nature of the liturgy celebrated here at Good Shepherd. Our teaching is simple and direct, yet always centered on the Gospel. Our liturgy follows the historic forms in which Christ Our Dear Lord serves us with His own forgiveness, and we, His Holy Priesthood, offer up our thanksgiving and praise. Our services are not concerts or forms of entertainment. They are the Church on earth being gathered into the eternal liturgy of the Church in heaven. Please come and join us.
