Baptism is . . .

I. Not just plain ordinary water!

Link back here after the New Year for more on how God has worked through external means, applying His Word and Promises to such places as water.

II. God's saving work!

Link back here after the New Year for more on how people get Baptism completely wrong when they call it the work of men! In fact, it is God's saving work, and He has been showing that since the beginning!

III. A miracle!

You think God can't use water to save sinners? You think He can't use water to save infants? Link back here after the New Year for more on how God exactly that in the lives of people like Noah and Moses.

IV. Our daily walk with Jesus.

Link back here after the New Year for more on how Baptism is the means of our daily dying to sin and arising to walk in the life of Christ Jesus.

Baptism Saves!

Woo-hoo! Them's fightin' words! Especially in the Bible Belt, where Christians LUV to put their faith in their believing, and don't even WANT to hear that God has put their confidence on the outside of that oh-so-precious idol . . . the heart!

Please return after the New Year for more on why Lutherans are glad that . . .

+ God has put our confidence OUTSIDE of us, in Jesus!

+ And how this is delivered - and always has been - through such external means as Holy Baptism, the preaching and teaching of His Word, and Holy Communion.

+ Also, how God has joined His saving work through Water, rescuing Noah and his family in the ark, Israel by the Sea, and even infant Moses on the water of the Nile.
